Anyone who enjoys writing and evaluating great websites, might consider being a reviewer for SG.
Show some support for the community if you can find the time... [edited by ty who is trying to lighten up]: :) Last edited by tzmedia on Wed Apr 09, 2008 15:24; edited 1 time in total |

and what possibly is still the best designer forum on the net. I agree 100%, Stylegala always was a very good site but I think that in the last months the active users are less and less, I'm sad :( Recently I participated in another forum but is not the same... I hope that the site still continue alive V. _________________ Need help with your project?: outsourcing services |

That's a good question I've never been an official voice for the site, and feel uninformed.
I'm going to write a review for typeSites.com instead, and see if there's not a little bit more enthusiasm. |

It is a bit of a ghost town round here. I think there has been little interest in the site since I bought it from David. He sold it at the right time I think :).
I have no idea what else to do. I empowered long standing community members to be moderators and site reviewers. I removed some of the obtrusive advertising. In fact the ads that are currently in place are not even paid for. I don't want to take money from people while the site is so under used. If a community votes with it's feet and just decides that it's no good around here anymore then the site has to take it's natural course and die. I can't force people to come here and no matter how many reviews or reviewers I add or moderators or whatever makes no difference. People are just not interested in this being their community. As one of those who were given mod and reviewer privs after the transition, I must say that it unfortunately coincided with a very busy time in my working life and my forum activity, here and at other boards at which I've been a longer-standing member/contributor, has fallen by the wayside to a great extent.
So, for my part at least, it was nothing personal and nothing to do with any perceived change in the site's direction. I would have liked to have been more involved than I have been, it's just unfortunate timing (for me). _________________ aka 'clemi' |

Thanks for opening the discussion SG, I was starting to wonder, sorry for complaining vocally and getting too thin-skinned to pen more reviews. Somebody else put it that SG has like a Dynasty hanging over it, and nothing lives up to it. We hear it over and over and frankly it's unjustified.
So did I really want gallery comments gone maybe, and would I want Public News gone, NO. Some feature and design changes are needed to really freshen up the place. You've made sound judgements so far, but if you really feel people are voting then it's time to take a recount of what would make the place rock again. Something new is called for hmmm... There are a few new spin-off kind of review sites, empowering a whole new bunch of reviewers should be possible. By doing a review, even a 1-off they can promote their own sites. I didn't have any problem contacting several people who made comments in the reviews and asking them if they would like to write a review, a few did. I think it requires personal email correspondence with would-be reviewers. I found a cool tool to run a site through for some insider info, check out www.builtwith.com it lists the cms, web frameworks, javascripts, server type, whole bunch of stuff. ty |

I come here all the time! I love the site and would love to help add content to it.
I don't want to see it die as its one of the better laid out and designed sites out there. Let me know if you need some help! |
