I have just updated my site with a bit more polish in places and would like to know if you think it is hot or not?

it seems to me it's been copied from freelancer switch.

I don't think so, the font in the menu is similar (is not the same by the way) but nothing more (different colors, different layout, etc)

It's a nice design, but in my opinion is a little lack of personality, I mean it is a portfolio site, you can put a little more of your own style in it

It's a nice design but need something, something exra, maybe a detail

good work,
V.

Yes, sorry that's pretty much what I meant.

That menu hover effect is very interesting!

Agreed, very unique!

The page is lacking some personality though for a portfolio site.

I agree with the consensus about the hover effect on the menu. Very Cool!

I think the site needs a better typographical hierarchy. The paragraphs are right on top of the headers! Also the headers shouldn't be underlined if they aren't links - poor usability.

Also I am not a fan of the headline font you chose for you image headlines. I love red and black as a combo... I just don't think it is suitable for the size you are using it at...

Here is a <a href="http://designreviver.com/">good reference site</a> that <em>sorta</em> has a the same "feel" as yours(may be a stretch) if you wanted some inspiration

Nice layout! I like the blur effect on the main menu.

But dont you miss importing SEO-work by using images as titles? (instead of h1,h2,h3 etc.)
You should probably work with alt-tags for the title-images.

Good job!

Wow, very nice menu indeed really original.

I totally agree with the personalty issue. Somehow i am not really attracted to start reading which is a bit sad for a portfolio website so maybe you can try something with it.

I do like the basic styles and think you should just add a little bit of flare to it.

I think the menu is great and really works with the overall website design. I think it needs something more, may be a few more images or design attributes. Your "current project" would look better in the same typeface as the rest of your headings.
